Former Rugby Player
Doug Howlett is a former All-Black and professional rugby union player. With over 260 appearances for both club and country former All-Black Doug has cemented his status as an all-time rugby legend by scoring over 700 points throughout his career. Primarily playing on the wing, but he also covered fullback at national and international levels, Doug Howlett played for 5 different clubs throughout his esteemed career. Former All-Black Doug enjoyed a successful professional career in the Norther Hemisphere before signing with Munster.
Spending 5 years with Munster Doug won both the Heineken Cup 2007-2008, and two Celtic Leagues in 2008-09, and 2010-11. Eventually finishing his career with Munster Rugby in Ireland former All-Black Doug scored an outstanding 49 tries in 62 tests. Incredibly Howlett is also currently the seventh-highest try scorer in rugby union history and first on the all-time highest try scorers’ list for the All Blacks.
On retiring from the professional game in 2013, Doug has been instrumental in developing the commercial portfolio for Munster Rugby in his roles as Corporate Ambassador and Commercial Manager and in 2017, assumed the role of Head of Commercial and Marketing for Munster Rugby before returning to New Zealand in the autumn of 2019.
