Nuala Moore has pushed boundaries in some of the most dangerous icy waters and remote locations in the world. In 2006, she was part of a six-person team that swam 1,420km around the island of Ireland over 56 days. This world-first expedition of back-to-back immersions is considered one of the most courageous achievements in open water swimming.
Despite a decade of marathon open water swimming, Nuala felt most alive in the planet’s deepest, darkest, and coldest waters. The lure of the unknown and the challenges of extreme environments were irresistible to her. Over the last two decades, she has redefined success and failure, creating value in achievement while staying true to her own journey. Inspirational yet unassuming, Nuala shares the compelling story of her quest to find personal value and strength in the face of the world’s most formidable challenges. Her presentations take audiences on breath-taking journeys, offering unique insights into the power of mindset, decision-making, preparation, and perseverance in extreme environments. Through powerful imagery, videos, and captivating storytelling infused with humour, Nuala inspires audiences to explore their own potential.
Throughout her career, Nuala has consistently chosen the challenging path, not always with success as the objective. Instead, her journey became about confronting her weaknesses, finding her strengths, and embracing growth through adversity. By undertaking extreme swims, she tapped into the raw emotions that define us, seeking out moments of greatness to push beyond perceived limits. In her keynotes, Nuala draws on her experiences of teamwork in the most remote ocean locations, achieving the extraordinary in the most hostile environments. Her stories offer audiences profound lessons in resilience, teamwork, and the courage to confront life’s extremes with calm and clarity.
