Energy Expert & DEI Advocate Catherine Sheridan has developed a deep understanding of sustainability over the course of twenty-five years informed by her deeply held values of doing interesting work that has a societal benefit. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Ireland, Catherine’s journey from being the only woman on sites to being recognised internationally for her expertise in energy system integration has given her unique insights into what it means to stand up for what she believes. She has experienced protests and threats for her work as well the satisfaction of protecting the environment and influencing energy policy internationally.
Catherine has held senior roles in engineering, project management and communications and now provides advisory services professionally and as a board member where her positive pragmatic insights into sustainability and shared value creation are highly valued. Rather than being intimidated by the language of male titles, she has become a bachelor (of engineering), a master (of science) a fellow (of Engineers Ireland) and most recently that of Ironman. Catherine has never seen glass ceilings or limits as applying to her, more as “power- up” actions to gain momentum. This has enabled her to raise the bar for herself and others around her including some incredible adventures such as an English Channel swim.
