John Mullins is a prominent Irish business leader and entrepreneur, currently serving as the CEO of Amarenco, a company specializing in solar asset development, financing, and ownership in Europe and the US. Prior to this role, John was the CEO of Bord Gáis from 2007 to 2012, during which time he expanded the company’s electricity business and established significant renewable and conventional generation assets.
John has held various senior management positions, including roles at ESB, ESB International, PricewaterhouseCoopers (UK), and NTR plc Group. He is also the non-executive chairman of Heneghan PR and the chairman of the Port of Cork Company. Additionally, John has served as the chairman of the Bord Gáis Pension Fund and now chairs the Port of Cork Pension Fund.
An electrical engineering graduate from University College Cork (UCC), John also holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from the Smurfit Business School at University College Dublin (UCD). He is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland and the Irish Academy of Engineering, and a member of the UCC Governing Body.
