Gavin Duffy.

With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, Gavin Duffy stands as a beacon of entrepreneurial excellence and leadership in Ireland. Best known as the longest-serving Dragon investor on RTE’s Dragons’ Den, Gavin’s influence extends far beyond the realms of television. He is a seasoned consultant, trainer, and advisor, with a passion for nurturing talent and fostering growth in both individuals and organizations.

Gavin’s journey in the media and business landscape began at a young age when he set up a local radio station in County Louth. Since then, he has made significant contributions to the media industry, presenting RTE’s first-ever business program, Marketplace, and becoming one of the inaugural broadcasters on RTE Radio One’s Morning Ireland. His expertise and insights into communication, crisis management, media, and marketing have been honed over years of hands-on experience, making him a trusted voice in the field.

However, Gavin’s true vocation lies in training and development. As the co-founder of Dorland Training Ltd (now trading as Gavin Duffy and Associates), he has worked tirelessly with senior leadership teams, guiding them towards their full potential through consultancy, facilitation, and coaching. His commitment to training extends beyond the boardroom, as he dedicates time to University Enterprise programs and advises social entrepreneurs through various charitable initiatives.

Gavin’s impact as a speaker is undeniable. His witty, engaging, and entertaining style captivates audiences, leaving a lasting impression on all who have heard him speak. Whether delivering keynotes, workshops, or training courses, Gavin’s passion for empowering individuals shines through, inspiring them to embrace change, overcome challenges, and strive for excellence in every endeavor.

Beyond his professional achievements, Gavin is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He advises social entrepreneurs through organizations like the Arthur Guinness Foundation, Vodafone Make a Difference Charity, and Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, embodying the spirit of philanthropy and social responsibility.

As a founding member of the Irish Chapter of EO and a member of Ireland’s Public Relations Institute (PRII), Gavin remains at the forefront of Ireland’s entrepreneurial landscape, driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and shaping the leaders of tomorrow. With his unparalleled expertise, unwavering dedication, and infectious enthusiasm, Gavin Duffy continues to inspire and empower individuals and organizations to reach new heights of success.

‘Gavin is an excellent after-dinner speaker, very positive, uplifting and inspirational. He really engages with the audience and truly entertains by being funny, serious and most importantly, relevant. He was also a pleasure to deal with in the run up to the event and I would highly recommend him.”

– Jerry Moriarty, Director of Policy, Irish Association of Pension Funds

“Gavin provides outstanding counsel and tactical advice for organisations or individuals in need of strategic direction.  He excels at facilitation for both intimate groups and larger gatherings and never fails to bring the best out of such events.”

– Nigel Heneghan, Heneghan PR

“Gavin, the few hours I spend with you lifted so much of the fog, not to mention the telephone sessions afterwards which were above and beyond your call of duty.”

– Martina SInclair, Weightwatchers Ireland

“When it comes to media he has done it all – presented on TV and radio, written newspaper columns, set up radio stations and for twenty years he has been helping people to do themselves justice on the media. I have been working with Gavin for nearly 12 of those years and he never ceases to amaze me at how insightful he is – no matter what the topic- from online selling, to mining, to egg production for the health market, to recycling batteries! As part of the H&K International network, we also use Gavin for our European clients and we have had fantastic feedback from our colleagues at his ability to train CEO’s and Managers in some of the biggest companies in Europe and some Fortune 500 ones too! His training methods transcend national borders and give our clients the confidence to work under the most difficult conditions.”
