TEDx Speaker and Host, Education Leader & Innovator
Graduating from Bristol University, Marcus began his career qualifying as a chartered accountant. He then joined EY where he quickly developed a reputation for being a “fixer” and was successful in driving greater efficiency in a number of roles including that of Director of Recruitment. He later sat on a taskforce for the merger between Arthur Young and Ernst & Whinney, giving rise to Ernst & Young.
Entering the world of real estate, he was part of a small team that transformed London’s commercial centre including Broadgate, Ludgate and Stockley Park, borrowing over £6Bn.
A series of successful entrepreneurial ventures followed including; accelerating a small tech company’s growth from a staff of 2 people to over 120 and bringing “Lazy Town” – the internationally renowned children’s programme, from Iceland to the UK.
Marcus is passionate about creating better opportunities for young people and transforming aspirations and achievement, largely driven by challenges he has had to overcome in his own life. This led to him founding Bryanston Square, bringing together a team of dedicated individuals to assist in bidding for highly competitive public procurement school projects. The team were successful in winning 41 out of 46 projects with a value in excess of £5Bn. Since 2007, Bryanston Square’s focus has been developing students and teachers, enhancing learning spaces and leading change in education.
Whether addressing 900 Googlers or 1,200 TEDxers, Marcus has an engaging and thought provoking style of delivery, which inspires audiences to grasp opportunities and take on the impossible.
– Dare to Dream: Challenging the impossible
– Unlocking potential: Harnessing the talent within

– Leadership: Time to release the strangle-hold
“Marcus, I need to tell you that you were one of the greatest ever in my life, all Googlers were extremely pleased with your performance. CEE people would just never say brilliant to anything…and yet you were rated 4.85 [out of 5], which is unimaginable in this region. So again, you were brilliant and I am so thankful for that and also to get to know you, it was a real pleasure.” – Country Manager, Google, June 2014
“Everyone in the event business knows that a good host brings 50 (if not more) percent of the success to an event, and, I can speak on behalf of an entire team, we can’t imagine the better person to host a TEDx Vilnius than Marcus.” – TEDx Organiser, Lithuania, May 2015
